Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon

Sushant Rajput- Kriti Sanon Raabta is hitting theaters on 9th June. The star-cast is going full swing to promote the movie through every possible channel. Promotions mean diametrically opposite things to a film’s cast and to the journalists who are a part of such events. While the former expects to chit-chat all about their films, the latter, as with their lineage, is always out for some juice which could make up as next day headlines. Something similar happened during the promotion of Raabta when a journalist put up a question on Kulbushan Jadhav for Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon. Sushant showed his diplomatic side, while trying his best to duck the question. The journalist persisted and this is what transpired :

His stance was very clear, celebrities are not supposed to comment on each and every thing that is going on in the country. The journalist made things simple for him to choose to condemn Pakistan’s stand or condone it. Sushant didn’t budge from his stand and reiterated his position rather brusquely, saying that it is not fair to expect from celebrities to know facts and comment on matters of national importance.

The hyper-nationalist Twitterati, as expected went into an overdrive and there were angry tweets demanding the boycott of the MS Dhoni famed star’s next venture.

The popular reference was of a Pakistani award show, where a Pakistani artist dedicated his win to the “anguished” Kashmiris.

There were other voices who defended the star by saying that there was no need to ask such questions during a film’s promotion

What is your stand ? Who is a jerk, the journalist or Sushant? Let us know in comments.
