Micromax’s newest smartphone “Unite 4″ launch lets you be yourself, quite literally. Unite4 comes in with pre-loaded tools and applications that are compatible with 12 vernacular languages including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Oriya, Gujrati, Telugu and Punjabi. The indigenous user-interface called IndusOS 2.0 is developed by FirstTouch, a startup based in Mumbai. One of the major highlights of this smartphone is its own app store which features 25,000 apps and games on it. It throws up results as per the language you choose to search. You can swipe right to translate English in a language of your choice. Predictive text output is available for any language you choose to type in – words are corrected automatically letting you express yourself quickly, efficiently and in an error-less manner. First-time smartphone users who are not too comfortable in English can dabble in their mother tongue and stay connected to the digital world with minimum efforts.

To enhance accessibility and security functionalities on the device, it is fitted in with a fingerprint scanner. You can unlock the phone by just pressing on your fingers and can log on to a number of supporting applications as well. Great moments are never missed, thanks to an enviable camera combination of a 8MP primary auto-focus camera and its 5MP secondary counterpart. Optimize your call and data costs with dual-SIM support. Powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, this smartphone is incredibly fast. An intuitive user-interface makes things even more convenient letting you execute tasks with an inimitable flair. Multimedia capabilities are taken care of by a 5” HD IPS display boasting of a resolution of 720×1280 pixels.

According to statistics, India is the second largest smartphone market in terms of users but a wide scope of expansion remains untouched with a low penetration percentage. Just 23% of population owns a smartphone. Micromax seeks to exploit this lacuna with vernacular support providing an easy platform for users to understand, update and traverse around their smartphones. Many of those who are reluctant of buying a smartphone because of their discomfiture with English language can look forward to own a Micromax Unite4.
