India and Pakistan have had their differences for so many years, but cricket is one thing which has never failed to bring the two nations in front of the television screens together. Cricket matches between India and Pakistan have always witnessed cutthroat rivalry and nail-biting finishes. These two cricketing giants are all set to clash again tomorrow in their opening game of the ICC Champions Trophy in Birmingham, England.

Both the nations are equally excited for the epic and excitement is dripping over the brink on social media well in advance.

Though the two sides have always fought head to head and toe to toe in any major competition, this time the Pakistani squad appears to be muffled as compared to the Indian heavyweights. With Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan announcing their retirement recently and most of the Pakistani players playing in their first major ICC event, the squad lacks depth and experience.

On the contrary, the Indian squad is blessed with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Captain Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav who have all proven their worth multiple numbers of times at the biggest of stages and are currently enjoying good spells of cricketing form. If the numbers and statistics are to be trusted, the clash could turn out to be pretty one-sided. We may not get to witness a juicy India against Pakistan game. The weather could also play a spoilsport in tomorrow’s clash as it is raining consistently in most of the parts of England.

The two teams do not match on paper but as they say, the game isn’t played on paper. Cricket is a game of uncertainty and surprises. Minnows possess the potential of beating the heavyweights. Let us all hope that we get to see a jittering contest between the two teams rich in history and glory.
