As per a spokeswoman from the company, their pumpkin spice latte, a runaway hit which has sort of defined the coffee chain, has pumpkin pie spices but no real pumpkin. Nutritionists and food bloggers have repeatedly raised concerns on the drink for usage of non-organic coffee that might have been grown in farms sprayed on with pesticides. It is also known to contain Caramel Color Class IV which has been called out by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as possibly carcinogenic to humans. In simpler terms, it has a potential to cause cancer.

The Wall Street is favoring Dunkin’ Donuts over StarBucks and that is definitely something of a setback for the latter. The shares for Dunkin’ Donuts gained steam and rose by 25% while those of Starbucks registered a slump of 5% in the last 12 months.
