Beauty comes in all sizes. This saying was proved correct at the Lakme Fashion Week when it organised a plus-size fashion show. Plus size fashion has rapidly grown in the last few years. Even, many brands and designers are now offering bigger sizes breaking stereotypes based on tags and sizes.

Even though the market is growing at a rapid speed, ‘body positive activists’ are conspicuous by their absence on platforms like fashion shows, movies and even many brand campaigns in India. This is not the first time that the Lakme organised a plus size show. While breaking the chains, Lakme, last year, presented India’s first plus size fashion show. This time also, men and women were auditioned through a social media campaign. The models burnt the stage with their confidence and made it a big fashion moment on Indian ramp.

This year, the brand aLL presented their collection in collaboration with veteran designer Wendell Rodricks. The collection ‘aLL PRIMERO’ was a mix of asymmetric gowns, swinging dresses and capes which were adorned with silver heart motifs. The show was bright with cheerful colours like orange, pink, green.
