“How dare you, Sir?” Tweets Farhan Akhtar after BJP spokesperson calls filmstars ‘low IQ’

BJP is facing nationwide criticism over trying to mute few dialogues of the Vijay starer movie Mersal which were critical of the government policies. The Tamil Nadu BJP is upset over the scene where actor Vijay is seen criticising GST.

The actor is seen highlighting the inability of the government to provide decent healthcare despite charging the higher rates of GST. “Singapore which collects 7 percent GST offers free healthcare but why isn’t our government that collects 28 percent GST giving free healthcare? 12 percent GST for medicine but liquor that ends the marriage of our mothers don’t come under GST,”

Yesterday, in a heated argument over the Mersal issue, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao called filmstars low IQ with very low general knowledge.

His remarks were outright demeaning and generalized the entire film fraternity of the country. And Farhan Akhtar has chosen to not ignore callous remarks of the BJP spokesperson. Furious critically acclaimed director, actor, singer and producer took to Twitter to express his anger about the same.

Rest of the Twitter also joined him and questioned the logic behind the sweeping statement.
